Power Brake Booster — Remanufactured Replacements

257 results · Remanufactured & OEM

The power brake booster is the vacuum-assisted lever that multiplies your foot pressure on the brake pedal into the hydraulic force that stops the vehicle. Boosters fail in two patterns: gradual loss of assist (pedal gets progressively harder over weeks) or sudden failure (pedal goes solid mid-drive). Either pattern increases stopping distance 30-50% and is a safety issue that warrants immediate replacement.

A failing brake booster shows up as a hard pedal, especially after multiple quick stops or extended highway driving when vacuum reserve depletes. Modern vehicles flag low booster vacuum via a pressure sensor and light the brake warning lamp + disable ABS / traction control until vacuum returns. Most boosters last 150,000+ miles on naturally-aspirated gas vehicles; failure rate climbs sharply past that range. Replacement is a 2-4 hour job depending on whether the vehicle uses a dedicated vacuum pump (diesel and turbo applications) — if it does, replace both at once since they wear together. Score remanufactures boosters to OE-spec: new diaphragm, new check valve, new pushrod seals, vacuum-tested before shipping.
