About this part
Your power-steering pump generates the hydraulic pressure that the steering gear or rack uses to assist steering input. Driven by the engine crankshaft via a belt and pulley, the pump moves fluid through the high-pressure circuit at up to 1,500 PSI continuously while the engine runs. Common failure symptoms include a high-pitched whine that gets louder with cold starts, a moaning or groaning sound when steering at low speeds, fluid weeping from the pump shaft seal, and progressive loss of steering assist that’s worst when the vehicle is cold.
Each pump is fully remanufactured to OE specification. We disassemble to the bare housing, inspect the rotor and pressure plate for scoring, machine where wear allows, replace 100% of internal seals and the shaft seal, and rebuild the pressure-relief valve. Every pump is bench-tested for flow rate (gallons per minute at rated RPM) and pressure-relief setpoint before it leaves the line.
