About this partOverview

Your power brake booster sits between the brake pedal and the master cylinder, using engine vacuum (or in some applications, hydraulic pressure from the power-steering system) to multiply the force you apply at the pedal. The result: a 200-lb hydraulic squeeze at the calipers from a 20-lb push at the pedal. Common failure symptoms include a hard pedal that requires excessive force to stop the vehicle, a hissing sound from under the dashboard, the engine stalling when you press the brakes hard, and a brake pedal that slowly sinks under steady foot pressure.

This unit is a new, OE-quality replacement booster. The diaphragm, return spring, internal valve, and pushrod are all factory-fresh components built to original-equipment specification. Each booster ships pressure-tested for vacuum hold and leak-free operation. Direct bolt-in for the vehicles listed in the fitment table — no modifications required.

Frequently asked questions4 questions
Should I replace the master cylinder at the same time?
Strongly recommended if your vehicle is over 100k miles. The master cylinder and booster share the same wear environment (brake fluid heat cycles, vibration). Replacing both at once is one labor session vs. two and prevents a master-cylinder failure from contaminating your new booster.
How do I test the new booster is working?
Engine off, pump the brake pedal 4–5 times until it’s hard. Hold steady pressure on the pedal and start the engine — the pedal should drop slightly as vacuum assist engages. If the pedal does NOT drop, the booster is not seeing vacuum (check hose and check valve) or the booster itself is defective.
My new pedal feels different from the old one — is something wrong?
A new booster restores OE-spec assist, which on a high-mileage vehicle will feel notably stronger than the worn-out unit you removed. This is correct. If the brakes drag or the wheels heat up after 10 minutes of driving, the pushrod is too long — re-measure and adjust per service manual.
Why is this a New part instead of remanufactured?
For brake boosters, new construction is more reliable than reman because the internal diaphragm and valve assembly cannot be reliably inspected for fatigue without destructive testing. We source new boosters built to OE specification rather than risk reman failures on a safety-critical component.
