About this part
Your rack and pinion converts the rotation of the steering wheel into linear motion at the inner tie rods, controlling left and right wheel angle through a pinion gear that drives a horizontally-moving rack. On front-wheel-drive and modern rear-drive vehicles, the assembly handles hydraulic boost through internal seals that wear, score the rack, and leak as the vehicle ages. Common failure symptoms include a power-steering whine that builds with steering input, fluid weeping from the boot or end-seal, a notchy or off-center on-center feel, and visible play at the inner tie-rod sockets.
Each unit is fully remanufactured to OE specification. The assembly is fully disassembled, the rack is inspected for scoring and trued where wear allows, all hydraulic seals and O-rings are replaced with 100% new components, and the pinion bearings are renewed. Every rack is then hydraulic-tested for flow rate, internal leakage, and lock-to-lock turn balance under load before it ships. The inner tie-rod sockets are inspected for play and replaced when out of spec.

Why buy remanufactured?
Why buy remanufactured?
Remanufactured doesn’t mean used. Every unit starts as a returned core, gets disassembled to the bare housing, inspected against OE tolerances, and rebuilt with 100% new seals, bearings, and wear components. The result is a part that performs to factory spec at a fraction of factory cost — with a warranty to back it up.
